Arts and Cultural Committee
The Arts and Cultural Committee was created by the City Council in 2010 to promote the arts and cultural assets of the City, to position Hallowell as a unique cultural destination, and to seek opportunities to leverage the arts as a key driver of Hallowell’s economic growth. We are a consortium of interested citizens and cultural organizations including Gaslight Theater, Historic Hallowell, Row House, Hallowell Board of Trade, Hubbard Free Library, Vaughan Homestead Foundation and others.
Participating organizations are committed to mutual support and cross-promotion of each other’s events and programs, and the Arts and Cultural Committee organizes collaborative cultural events to benefit the citizens of Hallowell. Meetings are open to the public, and new members are welcome. For more information, contact Deb Fahy (Chair) at hallowellarts@gmail.com.
The Committee meets regularly from 6 to 7 PM on the third Wednesday of the month at the Harlow Gallery.
The Committee meets every other month, generally on the 4th Wednesday of the month at 6pm, hosted by a different organization. See the municipal calendar for details.
